Sex Addiction

What is Sex Addiction

Sex addiction also known as Compulsive Sexual Behavior—describes a pattern in which sexual thoughts or behaviors begin to feel out of control and continue despite unwanted consequences. This is not about having a high sex drive, being sexually adventurous, or having “too much” desire. Instead, it’s about the relationship someone has with their sexual behavior and the impact it has on their life and relationships.

Many people struggling with compulsive sexual behavior use sex, pornography, or fantasy as a way to cope with stress, emotional pain, loneliness, anxiety, or shame. While the behavior may bring temporary relief, it is often followed by guilt, secrecy, disconnection, or emotional distress. Over time, this cycle can interfere with intimacy, trust, self-esteem, work, and overall well-being.

In therapy, the focus is not on suppressing sexuality or enforcing abstinence. Treatment is sex-positive, trauma-informed, and values-based, helping clients:

  • Understand the emotional and relational roots of their behavior
  • Build greater awareness, regulation, and choice around sexual urges
  • Reduce shame and secrecy
  • Develop healthier ways to experience desire, pleasure, and intimacy
  • Rebuild trust with themselves and others

Healing is possible. With support, individuals can move from feeling controlled by sexual behavior to developing a more intentional, connected, and authentic relationship with their sexuality.

Sex Addiction Group

Many men struggle silently with compulsive sexual behaviors rooted in stress, trauma, emotional regulation, or unmet relational needs — not moral failure. These patterns often bring shame, secrecy, and isolation, making change feel harder than it has to be.

This confidential, non-judgmental group offers a space for men to better understand their relationship with sexuality, desire, and coping patterns. The focus is on accountability, self-compassion, and practical growth — helping men move forward without shame.

This group supports men & women seeking:

  • Greater awareness of sexual patterns
  • Tools for emotional regulation and impulse control
  • Healthier intimacy and connection
  • Accountability within a supportive community
  • Alignment between values and behaviors
